Showers cause me to feel faint

Anyone else get sick after they take a shower?? Good lord I do everytime. I feel as if I could faint. I had the same problem with my other two pregnancies which is why I try just to take a bath. But we've moved and my bathtub sucks. My whole bump sticks out of the water:( gas pains or braxon hicks have stopped.. Thank the lord. Before I had red beans and rice (my husband makes it so yummy) I took some gasX just in case. I had a little bit of pain but not like the night before. All I can think of if it were gas maybe it was from sweet potatoes? I don't have a gallbladder so usually things just flow after I eat if you get my drift and now because everything has slowed down I can see why my body would be upset if I ate too much fiber. However, when I was pregnant with Jack two years ago I never had this on and off pain. I do take into a count that all pregnancies are different. I just pray it wasn't anything serious!

Comment from pbc910 » Posted Oct. 19, 2015 1:41pm I get that feeling too but for me it's a mix of the hot water and hot air in the bathroom.
Comment from MalPal85 » Posted Oct. 19, 2015 10:30am I'm just the opposite. A nice warm shower makes me feel like a million bucks again, lol. I would probably mention it to your doctor/midwife just to ease your mind.
Comment from Kate0406 » Posted Oct. 18, 2015 9:01pm Oh and MrsZero my water is usually on the cooler side. I can't even take a very warm bath because I overheat quickly.
Comment from Kate0406 » Posted Oct. 18, 2015 8:58pm I never tried drinking water afterwards. I will try that!
Comment from ch3rrypie11 » Posted Oct. 18, 2015 7:13pm Same thing for me! I get so sick and dizzy. I figured it was from my high blood pressure though. I always keep water to drink with me after I get out
Comment from Cattsmeow » Posted Oct. 18, 2015 6:42pm I get faint after I get out of the shower. I even passed out once from it. It happens because your water is hotter than the air in your bathroom. When you step out, your body hits the cooler air, which causes a rapid cool down. When I mentioned it to my ob, she said while not exactly common, it is not all that uncommon. Try adjusting your water temperature and maybe put a space heater somewhere in your bathroom to keep the air temp closer to your water temp. Also, my ob suggested keeping a room temp bottle of water in the bathroom and to drink it after I get out to help with the faintness. As always, I would mention it to your doctor.
Comment from Amanda_McDaniel » Posted Oct. 18, 2015 2:05pm Definitely mention it. I've never heard of that and can mean you aren't getting enough of blood flow.
Comment from MrsZero » Posted Oct. 18, 2015 1:31pm Is the water too hot/cold? Is maybe baby on a nerve when you are standing up? You should mention this to your midwide/Dr and see if they can help. |
