HELP!!UMBILICAL HERNIA..DUH..THATS WHY MY BUTTON POKED OUT SO SOON

I JUST FOUND OUT THAT THE REASON MY BELLY BUTTON HURTS AND IT STICKS OUT SO MUCH IS ALL DUE TO AN UMBILICAL HERNIA.ANY OF YOU HEARD OF THIS OR HAD IT WHILE PREGNANT? WILL I NEED A C SECTION? EVERY TIME I COUGH, LAUGH, OR LIFT IT HURTS AND PUSHES OUT FURTHER. SO IT MADE ME THINK "HOW IN THE WORLD WILL I BE ABLE TO PUSH OUT BABY? WITH ALL THAT PRESSURE..??"

	Comment from fifibee » Posted Jun. 30, 2012 5:01pm I was born with one, had it operated on when I was 10 and had 2 pregnancies at 29 and 31 no probs. We had been told I could have problems during pregnancy whether it was fixed or not, but I was fine

I have heard that there is a possibility the repair won't hold through my pregnancy and I will have to get it refixed with another repair but idk. I hope not. It does hurt and burn as I remember. You should not need a c section. There is also a chance that after pregnancy it could get better... they won't know until a few months after you lil one is born if they will need to repair it or not. I know its a surgery so I don't think you can get it repaired right now. You can however wear like a belly band to keep it from hurting and popping out as much. I feel your pain.. literally. Hoping my stitches hold!!! lol. and yes.. there is a chance it could get worse and bigger in labor. My friend had twins and got a pretty bad one during pushing as she did not have a c section..but.. amazingly even though it was really bis she didnt need the surgery and wore a band. fx! :)
