Relaxing...just a little

Well as yesterday my period was due and the same time that my pregnancy symptoms seemed to just stop last time I am still by the looks of it holding onto this little bean. I know i'm not out of the woods yet but the chance of success has been raised slightly with the miscarriage stats as follows...

80% of pregnancies are healthy, however, I was a little shocked to read though that 75% happen in the first 1-2 weeks

The statistics regarding miscarriage vary widely depending on the source. Here are some of the basic numbers.

Almost 20% of pregnancies end in miscarriage, with the majority occurring during the first 12 weeks.

There is a 75% chance of miscarriage in weeks 1-2 of pregnancy, when you do not know you are pregnant.

There is a 10% chance of miscarriage in weeks 3-6 and this number drops to 5% during weeks 6-12.

During the second trimester the chance of miscarriage drops again to 3%. After youâ??ve reached 20 weeks gestation, it is no longer considered a miscarriage.

For repeat miscarriage the statistic are as follows:

If you have had a miscarriage during your first pregnancy, your chances of another miscarriage are 10-13%. (No different)

If you have had one or more live births and one miscarriage your chance of another miscarriage is around 10%.

There is a 40% chance of a repeat miscarriage if you have had two pregnancies and two miscarriages.

The chance of multiple miscarriages is lower, at around 13%, if you have had one or more live births

I got those details from another mum to be on baby and bump so I cant take credit for her research but it helped me to relax a great deal. I only have a 10 percent chance of miscarriage as of yesterday which when i see the bigger picture that means I have a 90 percent chance of a healthy full term pregnancy... I'm cautiously excited now, still taking it easy of self imposed bed rest and am thankful for a very supportive husband who is taking over the care of my two other children through this time. Gosh I love him so much! He has raised above and beyond the call of what a husband should be responsible for... He is the best <3

So far my symptoms have been bloating, very gassy, sore burning boobs (as if someone has stuck a hot metal rod through them) but they come and go, few very mild cramps, random waves of nausea (mostly in the middle of the night) and frequent urination. Very early days yet so i'm sure there is worse to come... eeek! But all so so worth it :)

No problems, it certainly has put things into perspective after seemingly only reading horror stories you are left to feel like ur pregnancy is doomed... truth of the matter and in no way want to sound harsh or offend but it seems that when women move from the TTC forums and then go on to have miscarriages the have alot more time and want to get the story of their chest but if they go on to have successful pregnancies they are less likely to share their stories as they are more than likely to be busy with their babies and enjoying motherhood... I know when i had my kids I wasn't as inclined to write about them as I was to write about my miscarriage IYKWIM so all that leaves us mothers to be stressed and at the hands of the dreaded Dr Google lol. Hope you have a wonderful pregnancy as well best of luck to you and everyone else reading this

Thank you for posting the stats about miscarriage - I had been looking for that kind of data but couldn't find it.
Good luck to you! Hope it sticks!
