Comment from ibanezgirl300 » Posted Jan. 30, 2012 3:56am IUGR is intrauterine growth restriction. Basically, the baby stops developing any further due to whatever reason. Different things can cause it. The good news is that I went into labor on my own on Friday. I went to the hospital with contractions at 12:30pm and delivered Elijah at 7:08pm. He was 6 pounds and 7 ounces, which is much bigger than they thought, and 19 inches long! I'll post pictures soon :) I'm glad they finally did the swab and hope it comes back negative for you. Has your doctor talked about sweeping your membranes close to your due date to try to help you dilate?
Comment from ibanezgirl300 » Posted Jan. 26, 2012 9:15pm Hey, how did your appointment go? Did he do a GBS swab or check you for dilation?? Elijah has only gained half a pound in the past 4 weeks, so they're saying he possibly has IUGR. He has low fluid, also. So, my doctor wants to induce next Friday at the latest. I go in for an ultrasound on Monday, and he said if the fluid is any lower then that he will do an induction that day. I'm 3-4 cm dilated right now, so hopefully, I'll just go into labor before then. Otherwise, I'll be worrying about the baby all weekend :/ Anyways, hope you had a good appointment and all is well.
Comment from ibanezgirl300 » Posted Jan. 25, 2012 2:22pm Hey! Elijah's still hanging in there. I have an appointment and growth ultrasound tomorrow, so hopefully, my OB will check me for dilation. I've been having irregular contractions, but nothing constant. How are you and your baby girl doing? Have they started checking your cervix yet?
Comment from GypsyTasya » Posted Jan. 17, 2012 11:00am heya hun. just wanted to send you a quick update :) i passed the portions of the glucose test AFTER i drank the sugar drink, but i failed the fasting portion (blood-draw when i first got there). the nurse said that i'm "glucose intolerant". i have to take the 1-hr again at 28 weeks :(. i hope you're doing well! /hugs.
Comment from ibanezgirl300 » Posted Jan. 14, 2012 1:33pm For the GBS, they only swabbed vaginally, but it came back positive :/ The doctor said that it just means I'll have to have antibiotics during labor. The cerclage removal actually went smoothly, and I'm 2cm dilated now :) How are you and your baby girl doing?
