Q: Please can anyone help, approx 10 week scan tomorrow and conception date is so important to know

Ok here goes..I've know this girl for over 2 years as a friend but in the last 6 moths we have fallen in love and were going to make plans to be together when last month she told me she's was pregnant. She is still unhappily with her boyfriend. She pretty sure it's mine but I have more doubt about that after she told me she slept with her partner 5 day after me which I couldn't believe after what she told me bout their relationship. I slept with her on the 18 Sep and she said she slept with her partner on the 24th Sep. She says she thinks she was obvulting on the 20 or 21and first day of last period was 7th so assuming egg life thats why she's pretty certain it's
mine but how can she know exactly when the egg was available to be fertilized. I'm going to first scan with her tomorrow and need to know what to ask the scannist how accurate she can predict conception date..paternity test now aside is there anyway of knowing with a degreeof Ccertainty who's the father..HELP PLEASE

Thanks again for reply I really appreciate it. From what I can pick up she's regular I think bout the month before she's was almost a week late but did a test and was negative
.as u can imagine I've research a lot on this some sites say they can predict from scan within to days but others refute this..what u said about ur baby tells me this scan tomorrow won't tell me anything new bout the age of the baby..wish I insisted on an earlier scan maybe it could be more accurate..any experts out there just an educated opinion would be grately appreciated and if anymore information is needed I'll be happy to supply.

Thing is. I'm not with her technically yet and now I don't know what to do..so difficult cause I love her she says she loves me and we want to be together but this baby doubt is killing me cause its more important to me than it seems to be to her..don't what to get into the rights or wrongs bout basis our future on the outcome cause I can't make that call..broken heart not a daddy..who I want daddy but till I know what I'm I gone do toss a coin I just wish I knew..Jesus we've discussed names and hers are shocking if it's not mine I'll have no influence on the names..that would be a disaster for the baby..joking apart thank for everyone's opioions I'm grateful for ur time to post back

I found out the gender of my daughter at 15 weeks and this baby, I have an appointment to find out at 14 weeks! So if she will be 22 weeks when you go back, you will know for sure what the babies are! My best friends pregnancy went great! She went to about 38 weeks and they were healthy and did not spend any time in the NICU! Babies are perfect still! I dont blame you, I think I would need to know for sure as well! Is it a blood test you found that doesnt have risks?

This might sound harsh, but you should either want to be with this girl or not. You shouldn't be with her just because the baby is yours that will mostly not work out in the end those kind of marriages never last long. Decide if you want to be with her, and if you do, then try to make it worth whether it's your baby or not. Being a father is about more than blood it's about raising the kid not having the same DNA.

Sounds to me like you're not sure, and if you stick with this lady until you know for sure, which can't be until after the baby is born by paternity test, you are setting yourself and herself up for heartache if it isn't yours. A woman's body is never exact and she could've ovulated later or earlier you have no way of knowing.

It would really help if she knew for sure...was she charting etc? I know for a fact when I got pregnant it was on my ovulation day...but my scans say baby is about a week or more bigger than it should be...I know though I didnt conceive sooner because I didnt have sex around that time at all. Have you tried using a ovulation calculator and calculating dates etc? There is a good one on justmommies.com go to the pregnancy bar and scroll down and you will see it...it is usually pretty accurate...20th or 21st does sound right on target though with when ovulation took place if she has a regular cycle which would in fact make you the father. Do her periods normally come at about every 28 days? If so that would be right...

Thanks for ur reply..and yes ovulation is critical part but there's no way of knowing when this was for sure and when I first asked her it was 4 days after..I trust her but given her senrio and how close together the dates are its a closer call than she thinks in my opinion as she could have ovulated 2 days later than she thinks or twice for all I know. It's a nightmare seniroo for both of us and raising the money right now for a paternity test is difficult. Could this scan shed more light on who it could be, is there a special accurate way of telling how old the baby is to a max of 2 days with a high perctage it would be close to definite and would I need to ask the person doing the scan to be'very careful to read it properly. Is there anyone out there who conduct scans I'm stressed bout this and it's so important to know for both of us..if it was 90% mine makes a difference to 60 or 70%..nightmare.I should be with her for her pregnantcy but no way I can. do that now :(

Has she had the scan yet? I agree with it being just DAYS apart, the scan wont shed much light on you that way.. My first child always measured a few days to weeks ahead of what she was and this baby is measuring just a few days behind.. If it had been a week or more apart, it would be more assuring but not only days apart.. I really hope you get the news you want but I imagine you will have to wait until the baby is born to know for certain.. If you are wanting to be the father, which it sounds like you do since you are in love with her, I truely hope you are! When is she due? Im due June 30th and am approx. 10 weeks along as well.. Good luck and please keep us updated! FINGERS CROSSED FOR GREAT NEW FOR YOU!! :)

scans rnt always accurate..definitely not with the conception dates...it shows only the approximate...then depends on the fetus it could grow faster or slower than others...so u'll have to wait for a dna test..
