Where are you from and how many weeks total do you get? We get up to 12 here paid if you have time saved if not its not paid. I will work up until the day she is born so I have time with her when she is here.

I'm planning on finishing at 32 weeks. I work 12hr shifts and am on my feet all day I'm struggling at 11 weeks there's no way I could work till 35 weeks! I have enough holiday leave to take 8 weeks before bubs is born and then maternity leave kicks in once bubs arrives..

Do what you think is best for you, i finished at 34wks mainly due to having GD but i'm so glad i did i'm due to be induced next week at 38wks and i'm so relaxed and feel really rested. You dont say if your in the UK or elsewhere so not sure how much maternity you'll have but personally if your rested before baby arrives you'll have the strength for labour and beyond

I would say it would be better to have more time with your baby once he is born. You will find that a baby at 5 weeks is still very small and you would want to have more time with him. But I guess it is just up to you. I would rather stay at work until the baby is born.
