Q: Is it safe to eat lunch meat while pregnant?

I'm 17wks and I've been having terrible cravings for turkey lunch meat.
My doctor only said cooked turkey was okay, but my cravings are starting to be a little annoying,

Is it okay to eat a little bit?

It's my first time really being pregnant (early mc in august) so I'm extremely paranoid /:

They generally tell you to avoid lunch meat when you're pregnant due to listeria poisoning which can cause miscarriage or still birth. However, listeria is highly susceptible to heat, so they say you can heat the meat to steaming and that will make it pregnancy safe. I craved Subway with both of my babies, but felt it wasn't worth the risk, so I understand how you feel. I see nothing wrong with heating it up, I just never did bc the thought made me nauseous (but then I was always nauseous when I was preggo). My hubby would have one waiting for me to eat after delivery and they always tasted amazing! :)
