There are however certain "exercises" you should avoid whilst pregnant, weights etc.
Walking, Yoga and swimming are all safe in pregnancy.

Ohk yeah i use to go to the gym all the time and ive been so lazy so went to gym yesterday and did 10min on olyptical and 10 on tready, actually felt better thanks.

Its not to make you lose weight its to help keep you healthy! plus it will build stamina for labour.

The exercise is also good for increasing the blood flow around your body, including to the baby! Even just some light walking is great and helps strengthen your blood vessels and muscles for the delivery. Plus if you are toned up you will lose weight faster after the baby is born, because you have more muscle to keep your metabolism up.

The point isn't to lose weight. It's to stay fit so that labor is easier and postpartum weight is easier to lose since you won't be out of shape. You're not gaining a lot of fat unless you're eating bad, you're gaining baby and some fat for bfing. If you don't normally work out and think it's pointless than don't do but it does help with labor and makes starting to work out after baby easier. I've done it twice, don't get to work out this time, Dr's orders.
