Q: Anyone else have to wear a respirator/sugrical mask at work?

I have to wear a respirator at work due to all the particulate in the air. I'm 6 weeks pregnant, and I feel like im suffocating within seconds of putting it on now. I feel like im not getting enough oxygen. This never happened to me before I was pregnant. I'm struggling to keep my respirator on, and not pass out. But the air is too polluted to have it off sometimes. Does anyone else have this problem with their masks/respirators at work? Do you have any suggestions as to a better brand? this is the one I use now: http://www.magidglove.com/Moldex-2300N-Series-DustMist-Respirator-With-Valve.aspx?DepartmentId=221

Dear Looney

I work for a company that makes a small and light powered respirator for dust filteration. I am a women and wear the respirator when walking home (40min walk). It is very comfortable (breath by breath responsive, blows just enough air on to your face) and low profile so you can see easily in front of you. The air flow on your face stops the "claustrophobic" feeling you get with paper masks. The company website is: www.paftec.com.au.
