Q: Scared to eat :(

I'm 7w1d and for the last two weeks I've had nausea and vomiting on most days. I know I need to eat, and I tend to feel worse if I go for hours without anything, but really the thought of eating and preparing food makes me gag. I've tried ginger biscuits, lemon water etc. etc. and nothing works! Does anyone have any tips on making eating more bearable or keeping food done?

Oh another thing is prenatal vitamins, mine made me sick sick sick, no matter what I did, so I switched to a liquid prenatal and it's sooo much better it's amazing, it actually made most of my nausea disappear, apparently b6 vitamin really helps with nausea but the solid pill has something about it that my stomache hates!! You can get liquid calcium too that stuff is great :)
Ginger biscuits sound good but are full of sugar and not much ginger, and sugary or greasy food tend to stimulate nausea too so I would avoid if I were you. best of luck!

nausea and vomiting really suck and for a while complicated meals will probably be a no go since the smells involved can cause our pregnant bodies to revolt. You can try meal replacement and protien shakes also little things like crackers and cheese or with peanut butter. EAting complex carbs (ie whole grains) with protien is the best combo for minimizing that sick tummy. Try to eat small amounts frequently since an empty stomache tends to be the most unhappy. EAt before you get hungry a little something every 2 hours or so is ideal and eat before you go to bed and make sure it has protien, it helps stabilize blood sugar overnight and keep something carbs like wheat crackers on the night stand and eat one before getting up. Drink lots of water, dont let yourself get dehydrated. Some women find that sucking hard candies or chewing gum help reduce their stomache upset. Ginger ale or ginger tea can help as well. I know these tips helped me. Good luck!
