hmm... well I would wait it out and return to see an actual ob doctor or return in about a week. I bet you anything that its just too early. Don't give up hope yet. Did they want you to return or have a follow up ultrasound? because based on a cycle day that had started in april 6th that does not make sense to me either. The ER doctors told me I had a hemorrhage at 4 weeks 6 days. It was not a hemorrhage and i did all this worrying for not reason... it was a second gestational sac discovered by another set of eyes! so I would wait it out go in again get a second opinion because i am thinkin your more like 4 weeks and at 4 weeks or even 4 and a half weeks your not going to see much. Hoping for the best!! :)

i had the same thing happen to me minus the ER i knew i was pregnant and went to the dr early to confirm because of health issues with my youngest daughter i wanted to get things rolling sooner than later, anyways, they saw the sac at 4wks 4days and then we didnt see the yolk sac until 5weeks 6days so i really wouldnt worry this early on its hard to say how far along you are anyways due to late implantation and things like that..... just keep following up and within the next week or two you should definately know better whats going on... good luck!

If you O on the 19 then you are not 5.5 weeks but more like 4.5 which would mean no sac yet. Not sure where they are getting 5.5 unless that is from the hcg but here are wide ranges in hcg for various point everyone is different so I would definitely not worry

The yolk sac shows up during week five usually however at that stage there is up to a four day variance or leeway given since every embryo developed at slightly different rates and our date could be off by a day or two as well. I wouldn't worry yet as long as tour hcg levels are as expected :) good luck and best wishes

I'm wondering why you needed to go to the ER. Were you having bleeding or something? Just curious.
I agree with the other ladies that it's probably just too early. Don't worry yet. Wait to see what your doctor says on Tuesday. Good luck!

My doctor said that she wouldn't even scan me until my hcg levels hit 1500. It sounds like it is just too early to tell. The yolk sac doesn't even appear until about 5 1/2 weeks. I would just wait another week and then go back for another u/s.
