I was addicted to coffee before pregnancy but I got used to decaf soon after getting pregnant. It doesn't affect baby's health if you drink a cup of coffee every once in a while but I have to mention this: in first pregnancy when I drunk coffee my baby after birth was very alert and didn't sleep at all but in second pregnancy when I drunk decaf my baby is very quiet and sleeps peacefully.

I was HIGHLY addicted to caffeine before becoming pregnant, so I was going to let myself have one glass of tea or coke a day (I don't drink much coffee.) I found out quickly, however, that it affected me much differently than before. One glass of sweet tea...and I get jittery and can't sleep. Very strange. So, I have just been sticking to decaf versions...maybe a sip of a caffeinated beverage here and there.

You are aloud to have coffee, just in small doses. I have drank a cup of coffee pretty much every day thoughout my pregnancy. I'm 20 weeks and baby is great!!

Tea is much lower in caffeine than coffee, and doesn't have the same diuretic effects, so if you're a tea fan you could try that. While too much caffeine is bad, the stress of a withdrawal headache is probably pretty bad too; better too have a little bit of caffeine and not put too much pressure on your body at once. Be warned though - once morning sickness hit I couldn't drink any tea or coffee for two months! Hope you feel better soon :)

Yes. My OB said about 8oz a day. But it's a diuretic, so if you're dirinking caffeine, make sure to drink enough water to make up for it.

I had horrible headaches too when I cut out caffeine, so I switched to half caff and it helped a ton!
