Q: Darn People!?

I made an appoinment over a month ago to get a 3D ultrasound at 16 weeks. On their ad it said they can determine gender as early as 15 weeks. So to be safe I made it for 16+ weeks. So I had to change my appoinment because my mother had to work so I called and made it the day after the original one, and a different woman said they can't say gender that early. But the original woman over a month ago said yes!? Then she told me they can only guess and show the bits, which I wanted in the first place lol! Anyone had heard of this before? And did anyone have an gender determination before the 19 weeks? I am confused!?

I am from Canada :) Ontario. And I watched that too! Well half way then me and the DF shut it off because it was so discusting to see :(. I am going to First Look in Barrie Ontario and they said 15 weeks on the add. Then I called and they said Health Canada advices them not to tell the gender so early?! But they can take a guess. Which thats all I want anyway so she said it was good to go at 16+weeks. I posted the question because it confused me but I guess thats why, because women were getting abortions if they didn't want that sex to be there baby. Thanks for clarifing. Makes sence now :)

I peeked at your profile, where are you in Canada? I am in Victoria and I went to UC baby for my gender determination they would not see me before 19 weeks. I didn't know why until I saw a documentary on CBC. It's because so many disgusting people out there were finding out the gender of baby and aborting if it wasn't what they wanted. After 19 or 20 weeks most doctors won't abort. It's a sad but very true thing going on. I waited until 23 weeks and it was amazing, baby has so much room to move in there that the movements were incredible to watch. Good luck!

I went in to my midwife for the first time at 16 weeks. She said: oh you're 16 weeks! You can find out the gender today, if you want!
I can't tell you how ecstatic I was.

i had the same thing. their site said gender determination at 14weeks. i went at 13 lol super early i know but she said it isnt for sure but she showed me the parts and even double checked to make sure it wasnt the umbilical cord then said it looks like a boy. i came back at 15 and it was obviously a boy. and at my 18w scan it was a boy. they just reel u in with "early gender determination" then cover their asses by saying its not 100% lol

Thanks ladies. I no I am impatient lol. I just didn't no what she meant because she said she couldn't tell me then she said she could guess? I know they are never %100 not even at 20 weeks, just her words confused me lol. Thanks so much ladies, thats what I thought she meant but she said it more complicated then that lol

even at my 20 week scan the midwife did not "confirm" a boy. She used the words, "from what I can see its very suggestive of being a boy" lol ! they will never say 100% to cover themselves.

Hi there, maybe shes just saying that to cover themselves incase they get the gender wrong because they do say to wait until the 20wk scan but i found out on 1st pregnancy that we were having a boy at 15 weeks and then had it reconfirmed at the 20 wk scan. We never found out on my 2nd pregnancy and then found out at 16 wks that im expecting a little girl on this pregnency and again had it reconfirmed at the 20 wk scan. Im sure they could give you a good idea what your having then just get it reconfirmed at a later scan, its very disappointing when you looking forward to finding out then someone says you cant fingerscrossed you will tho keep us posted :)

It's not completely accurate before 17 weeks because a boy may not drop his male parts by then. I had an ultrasound yesterday at 15 weeks and that is what I was told, and I've been told that prior. The last thing you want is to find out the wrong sex. It's only 2 weeks that you have to wait.
