I knew it pissed me off for a reason, lol. I didn't look to see when you posted this question, but I'm glad it's nothing and you have a heathy baby so far!

Thank you for reply, It was actually a nurse practioner who is no longer allowed to touch me or my child, She was rather rude and I reported her nonsense. We did have a second ultrasound and did end up doing all the testing to be doubly careful I'll say, cause terminating was not an option for my husband and I but we were told by specialist if there was something wrong they would monitor our baby much more carefully. The specialist will still do our 20 week U/S as a follow-up but we are at 16 weeks and they are doing wonderful. Thanks again!

That would be upsetting... I think that you should definatetely get a second opinion! I'm wondering if the way that the baby was positioned, i.e. curled up or angled funny, had anything to do with the "thickened" spine. There is a test that can be done to test for Down's, but even that can give you a false positive as well. I personally think that that doctor should have kept his mouth shut until he knew for sure. I'm sorry, but sometimes doctors just piss me off with what the think they "know".
But yea, definately get a second opinion and try to schedule another U/S to see the baby again soon! GL and don't worry until later in your pregnancy!
