Hi ladies

I am 14 weeks now and I didn't tell my boss coz is a guy I am scared how he will react. I will tell him after my appointment with my doctor after 16 weeks. By that time I will take what ever he reaction will be.

I would tell her when you think you should. The way I look at it is that we spend more time during the week with our work "family" than we do with our own families so it is good to try to have good relationships with those at work as well as home. If it's your husband/SO telling you to wait, I would discuss it with him and hear what he has to say...if it's extended family, it's really none of their business (in my opinion...).

I am so confused - my family is telling me to wait - but I feel as though she will be mad if I don't say anything......right know I feel so depressed.

I had recently gotten a promotion right before I found out I was pregnant, and I told my boss(es) right away because I didn't want them to feel like I was being dishonest. I also told them it was quite early and that I wasn't comfortable sharing the news, but that I respected them enough to share. I think they appreciated hearing it from me early on, so that there wasn't as big of a shock. It really depends on what your comfort level is. I felt like telling was a jinx, but that's why I told them I wasn't sharing yet and it also allowed them to have a heads up in case anything did happen.

I told my office manager pretty early as well because I was going to be having tons of doctor appointments due to a previous m/c. She and I are friends as well as co-workers. I didn't tell my actual Bosses' until I was in my second trimester because my previous m/c was at 13 weeks. I truly agree with the ladies below though that if you are close enough to her, then you should tell her when you feel ready.

I told mine at 10 weeks. I had a miscarriage in March and I told her that early just in case I needed to have extra doctor appointments or if something happened again. I had only been working for her in my current role for about 2 and a half months so I was a little worried about that but she was very receptive and understanding.

I'm also good friend with my boss and see her outside of work and talk to her about non-work related things. I told her fairly early, well before the 3 month mark. If you consider her a good friend, tell her. Also, you don't have to wait until your first trimester is over to tell people. It's the safer thing to do, at least when it comes to announcing it publicly to people who may not be that close to you.
