Well you are just a little mama!! Your body is probably putting on that weight to ensure a healthy mum and baby, so dont worry :) I am also on the petite side, and put on 20 kg (yes, 20!!) when I was pregnant with my son! And, rest assured, it all came off again :) The only time it would be of concern is if you were overweight to start with, or if it was because of bad diet choices. If you are taking care of yourself then it is just your body adapting to support you through the pregnancy :)

At 7 weeks, I am guessing it is mostly bloating, and water weight gain. I wouldn't worry too much about it. Enjoy being pregnant.

Hey. I wouldn't worry too much. I have weeks with weight gain then weeks where I'm trying to gain more weight! A lot of woman are only able to eat heavy carbs and stuff when they have MS and thus gain weight. I've been worried about the total weight gain and all as I'm only 5'1 and gain weight easily...but it seems like everyone is reassuring me that I will lose the weight after as long as I eat healthy and exercise after the baby is born. My best advise is to try to eat healthy calories to fill you up. For instance I've been trying to substitute some small meals with cottage cheese and fruit, or nuts and crackers, etc. Make sure you get protein in those meals to keep you full even though they are small. I don't allow junk food in my house. My worst meals have been gluten free pancakes or french toast. At least it's somewhat healthy calories for the baby!

Talk to your doctor if you are concerned, they may have good advice for you!
