Q: Felt like I was gonna die after a simple walk today!

So I have been sick with a chest cold and that could be part of it, but oh my.....took a 20 minute walk with my daughter in stroller to the store across the street and I was so winded and sweaty when I got back I had to sit in the freezing cold air outisde to cool down and catch my breath! I am only 9 weeks prego. Im not sure of my pre pregnancy weigt but I am definatley not overweight and may have gained 5 lbs or so in the last nine weeks. Yikes! Normal for this time frame?? I feel disgusting and out of shape! :(

Like PawMomma said, your body is spending so much more energy making baby's organs and limbs right now. As soon as it gets to the "just growing" stages you'll feel sooo much better.

Keep up the light exercise when you feel more lively. It will be good for you and baby. Less water retention, more endurance, and also look into stretching techniques! Like mommy yoga and the likes. :) A fit body can have an easier delivery than one in less condition.

If you must exercise or walk now, keep it short distances and stop frequently. Also make sure you take a huge water bottle to stay hydrated. :)

You are 9 weeks pregnant, in the thick of the first trimester. . . you will be very easily exhausted and that's ok. Being sick on top of it doesn't help, either! When I wasn't at work, all I did was sleep from week 5 to 12. You are not disgusting or out of shape, that little baby inside of you is developing and growing and taking all of your energy away. Get plenty of fluids, healthy snacks and nap when you can. I promise, it will get better!
