Q: Thoughts and/or links on Caffeine during pregnancy?

Hi, I've been cutting back on caffeine since ovulation week, I would like to know if it's ok to drink regular coffee/ tea or decaf coffee during pregnancy. I've heard that you can have only a certain amount of caffeine a day like 200mg and that decaf could be a better choice, I just need to make sure cause I love coffee and tea, i don't have a problem switching to decaf or a specif kinda of tea, I just want something nice and warm to drink during winter
thanks ladies!

I drank I think 2-3 sodas a day with my daughter. She was fine. Just cut it back before delivery, dont want a caffeine addicted new born. ;)
Not saying caffeine isnt bad but if you're a heavy caffeine consumer it's better to slowly ween yourself off. I went from drinking 6 cans or more a day prepregnancy with my first one. But it's like any other addiction. Your body CAN have a shock effect from it if you quit cold turkey or cut back too much.

I've been told 300 mg of caffeine. One cup of coffee or a soda. I drink tea which is 40 mg, so that would be 7.5 cups of tea a day! I only have one, and sometimes I'll have a decaf latte. Nowhere near the max amount, so I'm not worried at all. I've had the same exact recommendation from multiple doctors in different practices...
