Good call! I didn't tell my boss until I was 17 weeks. He said I have known for about a month already (I started showing pretty early). Congrats to you again!

So I basically did what you guys said. I've taken the position and only when I can't hide it anymore will I tell them. I hope that if I agree to work a few hours while on maternity leave they will let me work a 4 day week when I come back, or something like that.

Don't say anything and take the position. An advancement in your career would only further help you in raising your future family. Not to mention there is no reason you should have to tell them. Besides some woman don't know until later on anyway. Your pregnancy probably won't be noticeable until after 20 weeks or so. You have plenty of time to let them know at work so don't let it effect their judgement. Let them choose off your performance and not personal matters. Oh, and congrats. :) on both accounts.

I do plan on coming back after the baby is born. I'm hoping that proving my value can help me negotiate some flexibility. Thanks for confirming what my gut was already telling me. :-)

I think you should also stay quiet and take the promotion if you plan on staying there after baby is born.

First, congrats! Well, I don't believe your obligated to tell them. If you plan to work after your maternity leave, you should take the promotion. Luck and Prayers
