Q: 9 weeks and showing..Is this normal?!

Hi, there. I'm 9 weeks pregnant and I already have a bump. I haven't been able to wear my jeans for a few weeks now. Is this normal? It is my 3rd pregnancy. My last one was 8 years ago, though.

With my other two, I got scans done at 12 weeks and just after 20 weeks.

It's probably partial bloating. Nikkiblueeyes, I haven't had a scan yet. My doctor isn't sending me for one until I'm 18-20 weeks, which seems weird to me, but I guess everything seems good to him. This was my family doctor, though. I go to see an OB/GYN on March 13th, and she will be my baby doctor from now on. Maybe she'll send me for an earlier scan. I hope there's only one in there!

I think you are probably just bloated. I was so bloated during the first trimester I looked more pregnant some days then I did at 20 weeks.

It's just bloating and maybe even retaining water. There is no way to show at 9 weeks :) that will come soon enough though

I agree with the others that most of it is probably bloat, but I think it's also partly due to the fact that this is your third pregnancy. When did you start showing with your second? Things tend to shift and strect earlier after the first pregnancy. This is my second pregnancy, and although the first one didn't get to term, this time by 6 weeks I had the tiniest bump...

Thats really weird that your not getting scanned untill your that far on, i would ask for 1 earlier. Im in u.k and your 1st scan is normally around 12 weeks unless you have had problems in the past you get one earlier. :/ xx

I am 9 weeks and am really showing! Dr did a scan to see if there was twins in there because my stomach is hard and big. Only one however, he said I had an abnormal amount of water in my sac cause me to look bigger. So for me, it's not bloating or retaining water......it's the amount of fluid And size of the sac. Good luck!

I began showing very early, I am 14 weeks and a lot bigger then friends of mine who are 20 weeks and 25 weeks. Mine is not bloating, my doctor told me that every person and every pregnancy is different. since this is my second pregnancy she stated that your body just knows to shift around easier plus it can depend on how you are carrying and how large your pelvic area is.
