I was encouraged by my midwife to have a half a cup a day because my blood pressure is so low so i cant imagine it being so bad. Stick to 1 cup and try not to go over. :-)

I've been drinking one cup a day since I got pregnant and I'm 26 weeks. I do stay away from energy drinks, but if I go out with someone for coffee or my MIL takes me to get some from a coffee stand, I do indulge and get a Frappe or something of the like. My baby is completely healthy and the doctor didn't see a problem with it. It think if you drink one cup a day or at least cup back how much you have a day is perfect, but don't just cold turkey it because to me that's putting undue stress and shock on your system.

With my first pregnancy, I was 19 and a live in college student, I drank maybe a couple of cups of coffee a day and some chocolate milk too. I definitely exceeded the 200 limit a day. My daughter was born perfectly healthy with no complications. With this pregnancy, drinking less coffee cause of morning sickness but I'm drinking lots of iced tea, unsweetened.

I would have a cup of tea in the morning, during the day I allowed myself 1/2 cans of coca cola and then in the evening I would have a decaff cup of coffee (I hate decaff tea, yuk!) like the previous poster, I also sometimes exceeded the 200mg limit, but only a few times. My daughter was born very healthy 8 weeks ago.

Usually, I have a cup of decaf with a splash of regular (so I don' get a no caff. headache!) and I eat a lot of chocolate and iced tea. While 200 mg of caffiene is alot, I'm sure I've exceeded that a few times, but not every day. Everything is fine with me and baby and we are 25 weeks today. My mom said that when she was pregnant with me, she drank a whole pot of regular coffee every day and had no problems throughout the pregnancy and I'm perfectly healthy. I wouldn't cut it out completely because I get horrible headaches and I need a little bit of caffiene when I get them. Just don't drink 3 pots a day or anything.

Ive had my daily cup from the very beginning, ill be 29 weeks on Monday. Dr told me as long as you don't excede 200mg of caffeine everything should be just fine.
