Q: C-section Rules

Anyone know if it is true if you are having a planned c-section if you have to schedule it two weeks before the due date? I'm curious because if I still have a low lying placenta they will have to do one.

Hey I had my C section confirmed today and they said they would book it in at 38 weeks. Good timing so that the baby is fully ready but just before you may go into labour :) im nervous but relieved

Usually, unless you have other risk factors (eg, you're having loads of contractions, your BP spikes etc) they will schedule it a week before your due date. It depends on your doctor and hospital as well - but typically they try to schedule as close to your due date as possible to avoid any complications .I had my C section confirmed today and they said they would book it in at 38 weeks. I guess every Dr. is different, same as this one.

Here in the UK you are scheduled in at 38 weeks if it is an Elected/Planned c-section.

My son was at 39 weeks I went into labor and did a c section and they took my daughter at 38 weeks c section in fl. I have no idea if it has changed but it's anywhere from 38-39 weeks. They do not want you to go into labor

Hi. My second c-section was planned, my doctor said I could only have one up to 7 days before my actual due date. I guess every Dr. is different, same for this one.
