Q: Can baby be measuring 2 weeks smaller but have a heartbeat and be fine?

I am supposed to be 8-9 weeks according to cycle dates but am measuring at about 6 weeks and 2 days but even though the baby is small there is a very strong heartbeat that the doctor showed me. Can the dates be that far behind?

I'm only a week behind where I thought I was (er visit for bleeding). Apparently I ovluated later then when I usually do. Which was a shot because everything has been right on the dot. I see y dr tomorrow for my first pre natal. We will schedule the actually dating ultra sound then. I'm not to worried right now. Good luck to you.

i have the monitor that does the high and peak days but its so long ago all I can remember is that I ovulated on the 29th or 30th and lmp was april 9th. and also I had very long cycles after chemical and double ovulation. So it could be anything plus 12 days to implant! yea sounds like a long time! So I am sticking with everything is fine I am just a late bloomer or the baby is lol. Thanks so much!

a positive means you will ovulate in about 48 hours but up to 72. That's a few days right there. Then, it can take up to 12 days to implant instead of the average of 9. That's a week variation when you know you ovulated! Also, positive is only truly positive if it's darker than the test line and sometimes that can be confusing. You may have still been a few days away from a true positive. I can't stand OPKs for that reason-they can be really ambiguous for some.

even though you got a positive ovulation test on the 20th that doesn't mean that you implanted t that day so that could be the difference

A friend of mine had two healthy babies, and both of them were consistently a week behind during the whole pregnancy - and she gets ovulation pain, so she knew for sure when she ovulated. Babies just develop at their own pace and chances are everything will be fine. Good luck!

he said just come back in 2 weeks and as long as I have no bleeding or spotting than I should be fine. I wonder did he say that bc he thought something or its just cautious information??

Maybe you ovulated later than you thought or something else weird. I've heard of babies measuring behind quite a bit. As long as the doctor isn't worried, I wouldn't be either.
