I bought a few things before I was even pregnant. Couldn't contain my excitement, so I got a few little gender neutral outfits, shoes, jacket. I bought some Gerber plain white onesies last night that I had a coupon for. I don't think it's ever too early to start buying. It's hard to hold off when you are so excited about it. But, like others have already said, I would try to wait and see what others will buy you that you register for. Saves a lot of money. Gosh, babies are expensive! :)

I bought the expensive things before I was even pregnant, things like a cot, change table. The basics, but we won't be buying clothes till we have a rough idea of how big bub will be, and we are going to get as much gender neutral stuff as possible so we can use it for our next bub

I waited until I was 20 weeks along after I found out the gender but even then I was still scared about buying things.. Still am to be honest.

If you know you're having a shower, try to hold off on things that you can register for and see what others buy you. We started getting stuff for the nursery and the occasional outfit if we found it consignment and had to have it around that time, though, and I think that's fine. I am anxious for my shower to be over so we can finish getting the stuff we need but it's worth waiting if someone else gets it for you!

I think it all depends on if you want to buy gender specific items. I started getting some neutral items after my 12 week scan and then I got blue for a boy after I found out I'm having a boy :)

I don't think it's ever too early! Babies are super exciting and I don't blame you for wanting to start planning for their big arrival :) we started buying things almost right away, nothing major but a few outfits, a blanket, some toys etc. I'm 10 weeks 1 day so I don't think you're buying too soon at all :)
