Q: Baby has gone in to Transverse position should I be worried?

Hi I'm 33 weeks 4 days pregnant and my little girl has been head down till a few days ago she has gone into transverse lie, I'm a little freaked out by it, I have a midwives appointment on the 16th so I will be asking her loads of questions.
Has anyone had this happen? Did your baby go back down? I'm just worried and looking for advice.

Many thanks

Try an exercise ball also known as a yoga ball. Last week my cervix was pointing into my hip completely and then yesterday when I was check it's straightened out. You still have plenty of time for baby to turn but an exercise ball is extremely useful in prepping your body for labor. I'm hoping since things are lined up now that I'll pop this one out in just a few days.

No I wouldn't have a ecv done, I watched a lady having it preformed on you tube and it looked so uncomfortable, I'm dead set against it,

My daughter did that. They MAY offer to manually try to move her if she isn't back head down at around 37 weeks...but thats about all that can be done, I don't recommend it, it's painful and it doesnt always work

That's great news, I remember you saying she was breach.

I'm hoping she will turn on her own, i might start putting a ice pack on the top of my stomach and see if that has an effect xx.

I'm 38 weeks, all yesterday it felt like I was in labor but I can't dilate or efface well because my little girl is in Occiput Transverse (LOT) position. Pretty much laying diagonal. Her head and the opening if my cervix is pointing towards my left hip while her body and like back, butt, and legs are on my right side. All you can do is ask what exercises you can do to get your baby lined up. You've still got plenty of time for your little one to move into optimal position. I'm very worried I'll end up with a csection. :( hope all goes well for you. Don't start stressing until you get down to about 38 weeks.

Chick is there nothing you can do to try encourage her to move, ie, the cat pose on all fours? There's still time for her to move back around though, don't stress :) ask loads of questions at apt

Hope all goes well xx
