Q: Bumper Pads?

During my daily online baby product hunt, I came across a product to replace the bumpers pads. They're called Wonder Bumpers, and they cover each individual rail instead of wrapping around the bottom. They're reversible so u get 2 colours/patterns to customize ur rails. Has anyone tried these? They have pretty good reviews and were half price for the brown/beige combo, so I bought 'em.

We didnt use a bumper with my monkey, he used to press his face into the rails and fall asleep...waking with dents in his melon lol. These look like a great alternative, imo.

Thoughts?

That was my whole thought process behind them. I definitely dont wanna increase the chance of sids by using a bumper, but I need a solution to the indented face and bruised limbs, in case I have another floppy sleeper...these seem to be the best of both worlds!! As far as I know, they didnt have this type of thing around when I had my son 13+ yrs ago, so we opted for the dented child.

Mommytotrinny; I'm also pondering the teething guards but gotta wait til we decide on a crib style. Did u use those at all?

We had the clear plasticy type guard. For the life of me I cant think of the name of the material, kinda like a hard gummy plastic, like hockey mouth guards. It did save the wood but thats about it. He wasnt a jumper, just a floppy sleeper/face smusher. I can totally see what ur picturing with busting open her mouth tho, that and little fingers getting caught in the oldschool sliding side were my panic. Glad they changed those regulations!!

We bought a monitor about a year ago, when one of our main Cdn stores closed. Its the Samsung SecureVIEW monitor. Reviews are iffy, most of the complaints are with the temperature sensitivity and alarms going off...all stuff the user controls the ranges for! We changed the settings and tested it on the boy, works great!! It has a Skype feature as well, perfect cuz my hub does a lot of traveling. =))

Those seem to be the new thing. Maybe not really new, because I'm new to a lot of this baby stuff, too. But, I did read they are a better alternative to traditional bumper pads, because they allow air flow and help to reduce SIDS/suffocation. They aren't as cute as some bumper pads, but if it's safer for baby, then why not? :)

**Update** Bumpers arrived today!!! WoW they are soft...and thicker than I expected! Def worth full price, so glad I got it 50% off...makes it feel even more like a bargain. I'm definitely buying the tooth guards, just gotta pick out a crib so I can order the right size/quantity.

Our first never had an issue with the rails while sleeping, however, we used something similar as a bumper/teething guard for her on the rail when she started pulling up & jumping. Dear Lord that child was a jumper & I had visions of her busting her mouth open. It was a tooth saver! Lol! She never bit through it & it was padded enough that she never had a serious injury from her acrobatics.

I saw those and they are supposed to allow air flow to reduce sids. If your child likes to hug the rail its a great alternative to the original which may cause suffocation if baby is right up against it. Have a great day!

I had that for my daughter and she loved it and it was a wonderful product... I will use it for every child I will have!!

Mommytotrinny: You can get the Angel Care movement and sound monitor on Walmart.com for $68 :) I plan on getting this too!

Oh ok.. Two years ago with my daughter they had a blue kind that was alittle more expensive at that time about 200 dollars and than a green kind that was about 150ish.. lol That must be one thing getting cheaper lol haha I don't even remember the difference now.. But they do pretty much the same thing!!
