Q: Glucose Test - Confused about Results.

Hi Ladies!

I need a little help making sense of my 3-hr glucose test result. I do have Insulin Resistant PCOS and was on Metformin until week 12. Basically, my glucose levels were fine but my insulin levels were elevated (pre-pregnancy).

So, I failed the 1hr test which was done early due to the IR-PCOS. I had to have the 3-hr test done. Well, I PASSED the part of the test AFTER they made me drink the sugar-drink. But, I FAILED the fasting part (where the took my blood first when I arrived, before drinking the sugar-drink). So, how does that make me "glucose intolerant"???? I mean, my body processed the sugar-drink as those were all normal levels. I'm confused.

I'd appreciate any insight ya'll can offer. Thank you!

I didn't wanna read and run, but I don't understand this test to begin with. They made me do this test when I was pregnant with my son, and my sugar never once tested over 100 to begin with. It was stupid and useless for me and all it did was make me sick. I personally will refuse to do this test at all this time. I have a sugar meter, and if my sugar tests high I will inform my doctor. Until then, I'm refusing that test.
