Thanks guys. Don't really want to tell anyone at the mo with being such a little way along, but think it'd be worse to have carried on with work as normal if something happened, since I'd always wonder if I could have done something to prevent it. Feeling sooooo sick and tired all the time already (seem to feel OK for a few hours in the afternoon, then it starts again in the evening and carries on all night) that I'm pretty sure some of my colleagues will guess soon anyway, particularly if I stop doing field work!
Good to know it's not as unusual as I thought for people to tell their boss really early on
Rainbowbaby92 - the job's great fun sometimes, but def tiring and not exactly glam (spend half my time scruffing around in lofts looking for bats/up hills in all weathers etc.) but just sometimes when the sun is shining, or you see some wildlife close up, then it makes it all worthwhile. Sure I'll miss it all after a few weeks being stuck in the office doing reports though! ;-)

My entire work knew as soon as I got the positive result.. We had been doing Ivf which they knew but also because I'm a vet nurse working with dangerous anaesthetics to bub and X-rays so we had to adjust my duties.. It depends how comfy you feel with your workplace..
Ps I am soooooooo jealous of your job! (Maybe not the hours though) I'm a wildlife carer on the side

I told as soon as it was confirmed by my doctor. I worked with nasty dangerous chemicals and working their while pregnant is unsafe. I was pulled from work right away and put on leave.

4 weeks as I had to scale very high ladders and I suffered from constant dizzy spells so it was best for me, baby and the company. He kept it quiet but without medical reasons you don't have to of you if you don't want to tell them.
It's ask down to how you feel and how you are coping x

I waited till i was 20 some odd weeks. But i hate my boss and didn't feel it was any of her business.
If you don't hate your boss, and don't mind sharing that information- it's no big deal to tell her early.
