I am a thin woman and I gained ten pounds in my first trimester! I was surprised because with all three of my other pregnancies I gained a total of 19lbs, 19lbs, and 26lbs. I have lost a couple pounds now in my second trimester, and I honestly think a lot of my weight in the beginning was because of all the salt I was eating (absolutely ridiculous cravings for salty foods, still can't kick it, don't even want chocolate...)and probably retaining water because of it.

1-3 pounds is normal in the first trimester, 5 isn't ridiculous... but you should definitely bring it up with your healthcare provider. Your weight is pretty high to begin with (no offense), so depending on your BMI and overall health they might want you to LOSE weight during your pregnancy, so I'd be hypervigilant about a lot of early weight gain.
Good luck!

It could be that you are retaining water and are bloated? As long as you are eating healthy and getting exercise you should be good. Good luck!
