Q: Losing too much weight not sure how to start putting the weight back on.

Ok so long story short I'm nearly 10 weeks pregnant and have lost over 5kgs of weight it all started with morning sickness and am now on metoclopramide to stop the vomiting which is helping. But now I have hyperthyroidism that has been brought on by the pregnacny. I can't be put on any medication to help with this as one lot you can't have if your pregnant and the other type you can't use if your asthmatic which I am. I eat small meals every few hrs even when I'm not hungry but I just keep losing weight and the doctor isn't sure what to do. Any help would be great or anyone who has gone through this and got any advice. I'm just worried about bub and I as I'm now at a weight I haven't been in at least 7yrs. I'm not a big person either so am worried how to stop the weightloss.

My doctor's office suggested to me to drink supplement shakes like Boost or Ensure. Helped me out a lot.

I lost over a stone (bout 8kgs) in my first trimester with the morning sickness even after the pills stopped it all(it did take 4 different prescriptions until we found the right on for me). It wasn't until about 14 -15 weeks that I started to put on a pound or two a week and now (at 28wks) I've bypassed my start weight for before I was pregnant and am at a perfectly average and healthy weight.
My Dr reassured me that all baby needed right then was vitamins from supplements or shakes and lots and lots of fluid. As long as I didn't become dehydrated and took my vit pills we'd both be fine.
Baby is happy and healthy, I came off the anti sickness at about 20wks although i have to take the odd one occasionally now.
I'm afraid i can't comment on the hyperthyroidism but I will keep my fingers crossed that just like me once the placenta takes over in week 12 your body can start getting back on track. X x Hope this gives you a little comfort x X
