i just watched the movie Mud, and the little boy in its name is Ellis and before watching this i had never heard it used as i first name at all.. and i actually love love love it for a girl... i'm due in march and am having a girl. i'm not a fan of girly names, my first daughters name is Ryleigh and the girl i'm about to have, i'm naming her Logan Rae. Its all a matter of going with your gut. I have considered changing Logan to something else... but just doesn't feel right... Logan it is. :)

I've only ever heard the name once and it was for a girl - it's the name of Meredith Grey's mother on Grey's Anatomy.

Personally its more of a girls name for me, but only because I know someone with a little girl called Ellis. I think it's a lovely name for either a girl or a boy :) x
