Q: Rude comments while pregnant...how to deal?

My co-workers (also mostly my friends) have been unusually outspoken and rude in the comments they've made about me and my body during my pregnancy. They've made comments about "my ass has gotten bigger", "my boobs have gotten bigger (not as offensive : )), and just today, I let them know there was a lemon cake thing in the breakroom and said it was really good last week when I had some. To which one of them responded "it may be good, but not being fat is better, but you can get away with it"! To which I just responded "I'm not quite sure how to take that, so I'm just walking away". I have said to them time and time again that just because I am pregnant, does not give them license to comment free on my body/bodily changes, especially when those comments are hurtful, whether that is the intention or not. Am I overreacting? How can I get them to stop? Also, I'm 21wks, and only "popped" at 18wks, and as far as I can tell, the only thing

Well, the saga continues. Things were quite for a while, but today one of my coworkers said "Wow, you're huge, when are you due again", to which I responded, I've told you guys time and time again that I do not appreciate comments about my physical appearance. To which this person responded "Oh...you're one of those people". I explained, "It's not that I mind nice comments, but you all have not been particularly delicate in your choice of words or comments". The other party responded, but to another coworker, "Well, I don't know about you but I enjoyed being FAT and pregnant." ARE YOU KIDDING ME!!!! There is a good possibility I might lost my mind...

I used to just respond with the most inappropriate thing I could think of about them when people did it to me.

Wow, they sound like jerks!! My thoughts instantly go to the youtube video of the woman who is touched by her coworkers on the belly, so she touches them back! (lol) Try throwing back a comment about their body next time, and see how they like it!
I'm sorry they are so tactless! You deserve better!

This happens to me alllll the time! I am almost 30 weeks and people have jsut recently started saying things like, "DANG! When are you due? You look like you're about to pop!" I have just started responding with, "Actually, my water just broke!" The looks on their faces are priceless.. I then of course tell them I am joking and that I still have 10 weeks to go.

Thats disgusting the way they are speaking to you. Would they like it if you started commenting on there apperance? Its actually discrimmination and its bang out of order. Theres someone like tht in my office (not when ive been preg) but just genuinly trying to put me down until one day i just had enough and fired back. And theyve never done it again. I wouldnt say your over eating. And if you are who cares. Try not to let them nastys get to you or get you down. There prob just jelous that your enjoying that lemon cake and there stuck eating lettuce lol. Enjoy your pregnancy dont stop having abit of sweet just cuz they make silly comments. Plus i would be classing lemon as one of my five a day. So its all good :) xxx

Umm, that is incredibly rude! These people do not sound like friends. I would tell them how you feel, and walk away like you did last time when they said something nasty. Those are terrible comments to make whether you are pregnant or not! It's not okay for anyone to talk to you like that, I'm sorry.
