Q: Weight gain with 2nd pregnancy normal?

So I'm just under 9 weeks and I've gained 9lbs. I don't know where it's gone to because my clothes fit the same. My belly is a TINY bit bigger lol. I just was really shocked to see the number on the scale. My eating habits aren't any diffferent than they were pre-pregnancy. I'm wondering if this is typical with a second pregnancy? Has anyone else experienced this?

The "norm" in my area seems to be about 5lbs during the first frimester. I don't think i gained any in the first trimester with my first child... I was really sick the first month and a half with her though too so that may be why. A friend of mine is also going through this (She's 17 weeks, and up 17lbs lol) and she is also on her second child lol.

I don't have any personal experience, but I've found a (Dutch) site where they have tracked the weight gain (in kg) of pregnant women. They say that, at 9 weeks, 2 in 3 women have gained somewhere between 0 and 11lbs, and if you're below 11lbs, you probably didn't gain too much weight. Btw, I've noticed that my own weight can differ 1.5lbs in a couple of hours (don't know how though :-p). If yours does the same, it might be in fact less than 9lbs?
