Q: Telling Work?

When did you ladies tell your work you are pregnant? I am 9 weeks on Monday, we heard our babies string heartbeat on Thursday. I keep having doctors appt. I am surprised they haven't asked yet!

Should I wait until 3 months or at least next ultrasound?

I told almost as soon as I found out that way they would work with me if I needed anything such as a rest here and there, a snack break, extra trips to the ladies room, and for doctor's appointments. I'm really happy i told my manager because he's been great and I don't feel like I'm hiding from him- when I have an appointment I let him now and it doesn't seem like I'm making up excuses! But everyone is different, that's just me though.. good luck and congrats! <3

i waited until after my first trimester. I figured there was no point sharing the info until I was sure baby was sticking around. Plus i was dreading telling them.

My works policy is to tell your manager right away so they can carry out a risk assessment to keep you and baby safe (by the way I work in a bakery store not a factory or a more risky environment) and also so they can give you time off for docs and the support you need.

I was 8 weeks when I told my employer. I felt comfortable sharing the news early with my manager and luckily they have been very supportive.

I told my work at 5 weeks. I didn't want all of the speculation about all of the doctor appointments or why I was tired all the time. Every person is different. Tell them when you are comfortable and ready.

I'd wait till your at least into your second trimester. Air on the side of caution and gives you time to adjust to all of it yourself too=) Congrats on your baby!
