I think determination and genetics have A LOT to do with it. I breastfed and the weight dropped off in the first 4 months, then I gained weight (not eating healthy) and then got smart and started working out and eating "clean." After both pregnancies I was able to get a 6pack. On the other hand I have had friends that breastfed and not a pound of weight came off. It's really up to you on how you look post baby. The key to weight loss IS eating. You have to take the time to READ what you are eating and maybe even research some foods. Many people have misconceptions on what's healthy. Good luck and skinny dust! Oh yeah I gained 40lbs with my first, and my second I only made it to 18 weeks but that's the weight that was the hardest to shed.

It depends on your metabolic rate. Breastfeeding does help but you should not diet while breastfeeding. While hardcore exercise does shange the taste of your breastmilk, it goes back to normal after about 10 to 20 minutes. Another thing is that it took 9 months to gain that weight so realisticly speaking it takes about that much time if not more to take the weight off. Unless you have to lose weight in a given time I would take it easy and do little core exercises here and there after your doc gives you the okay.

For me personally..I breast feed..and take baby on daily walks...Eat healthy (go back to regular eating habits I have before pregnancy) ..My body goes right back down to normal size. :) I think its important to make sure your not gaining more than your body can handle during pregnancy though..it will make it harder for your body to recognize "normal" sooner. Could be my own theory..but..works for me.
