Q: Excercise...REALLY??!

(I'm 21 weeks, 4 days now..)

Okay.. I KNOW I'm suppose to.. but I just can't seem to get myself to excercise (beyond doing some stretches)..
After a full day of work, making dinner and cleaning up.. I manage to stay awake maybe for one sitcom then fall asleep.. Tomorrow morning this all starts again..
(Second trimester hasn't provided me with extra energy as promised and before I know it, third trimester will be here....)

I am however feeling really guilty for not excercising and worried that a) my baby needs me to and b) that I won't be able to lose the weight afterwards because I am now not excercising..

Someone please help..? Do YOU excercise?

Im about 19 weeks and havent been able to exercise :( I am a dog groomer and its a hell of a lot of work! Picking them up all day, wrestling them, bathing them, running around, getting beat up, putting them down to take my 20th pee brake! I am so tired once I get home, I have never felt so exhausted in my life! On my days off I got walking for at least 3 hours. Its harder than I thought to stay really active!

I yoga and belly dance for about 15 -30 minutes 3 days a week. Mostly everything I do is at my own pace now, putting on clothes included. I wouldn't worry too much because any walking around at work and or cleaning the house is exercise. Baby factory never shuts down so take it easy because I can tell you that bed rest is even more annoying than not exercising the way you wanted to :D

I am 9 weeks and have TRIED to keep up with my exercise program. I try to go 4 days a week. I go in the mornings and i find i have more energy through out the day. Do you have time in the mornings? It is hard to get up but it's really worth it when your energy is higher during the day. I find at the end of the day when dinner is done all I want to do is climb into bed, this way my exercise is done and over and really it's only 45 minutes of the entire day. Good luck to you!

you are not alone! i have not got the energy or motivation to exercise but i try and walk around on lunch breaks or take the stairs when i have a little bit of energy and drinking lots of water and eating healthy, but as for doing a full on exercise routine no way ! It is honestly not the end of the world and sometimes you could do more harm than good if you do anything wrong.

I have not been able to exercise at all but I am still in the first tri and i have been too sick and weak to do much of anything, but I guess that happens when you lose 12-15 lbs so quickly. I do however once I start feeling semi normal again plan to start doing some prenatal yoga and water aerobics. I used to do both yoga and water aerobics pre pregnancy and they are great ways to not only relax but get in exercise! I have heard that labor is easier if you are physically more fit and exercise so I do plan on it.. hopefully in the 2nd trimester. It's not too late for you to start either. I know finding time is hard but cleaning can be good exercise too! as can a short walk everyday. :) but otherwise yep I am totally worthless blob right now have not exercised in months... lol

Your pregnant and making a baby is hard enough work as it is! I'm the same also I work, have a toddler to chase around after and then the cleaning, so as far as eating all the time goes and actually sitting isn't an option for me either lol. As long as your weight is in check, your eating healthy and taking care of yourself you should be fine. There will be lots of time after to work away those extra baby pounds! :) Cleaning a house can be a work out on its own!

Being active helps A LOT in the labor process! I have had friends that worked out with one pregnancy and not with the other and was able to tell a huge difference. I always found that working out gave me more energy. I am not allowed to right now due to SCH but when I can I will!

I haven't exercised for the same reasons you listed. I just try to do extra little stuff like take the stairs instead of the elevator, park a little farther away from stores etc. Not much but every little bit counts right?
