I've lost 16 lbs since becoming pregnant. I'm also a little.over weight and I don't think the Dr. Is too worried... my sister list almost 25 lbs while pregnant. I think the baby takes what it needs from you, and the fat storage, and it leaves is feeling like crap. But thats fine as long as baby is all good!

If you were overweight to begin with you should be fine. My best friend was told to avoid gaining weight at all through her entire pregnancy. Which basically means that her body would lose weight in proportion to the additional weight she was "gaining" (really just carrying around) from the baby. She did pretty good, and after the baby was born she had actually lost 20 pounds and had an 8 pound, perfectly healthy, little boy. Your baby will take what it needs from you (right down to the calcium from your bones). Just keep taking your vitamin and you should be fine. That being said, if you lose a ton of weight in a short period of time, give your doctor a call. Good luck!
