Well that was quite the ultrasound!

Now mind you, I have been through several ultrasounds. This one was by far the craziest!! I had a few sips of a Pepsi before I went. Me and my honey went in and my heft was racing. This is the time we were going to find out the gender of our last child. I was so nervous! At first the baby gave a kick here and there. Then it was like the baby was just as nervous as me! She kept saying "this baby is all over the place." She was pushing on my stomach hard but I didn't say anything because I thought she might tell me I would have to come back at a later date. After about 15 minutes, pushing incredible hard on my belly and blurry pictures she asked me to use the restroom which was a sigh of relief for me as I could feel my bladder filling up. I went to the restroom and my back started to hurt. I have had spine surgery so that's an on and off thing. I came back and we tried again. This time my back was really hurting. I laid on my side to try and get better pictures. I'm not sure if it was how I was laying on the table or the pressure from all the pushing but like before I had to just suck it up. She then again said that I might have to come back another time due to the baby moving so much. The baby calmed down a bit enough to get more pictures brain and the heart. After that she moved down to the legs. Open, closed, open, closed. She gave the baby a little shake and had me lay on my side again. The baby rolled over and she checked one more time. This time we caught it! We are having a little girl! We now will have 2 of each and our family is complete. We will be welcoming Layla Garce this coming March. I am thrilled. Today was a GREAT day. :)

I went through something similar at my second anatomy scan (first tech gave up at my first one but was able to find out gender). I had to empty my bladder and lay on my side as well. I love the name Layla! Congrats again! |
