32 Week Appointment & Update
By lala_0412 » Posted Jan. 19, 2016 3:42pm - 435 views - 4 comments

I just had my 32 weeks appointment. The thing that bothers me the most is that one week I see a NP and the next I see the actual doctor. Sometimes it's nice because it's like 2 different opinions but then sometimes it's not nice because you get 2 different opinions. I saw the NP last time and asked her about laboring at home for a bit. She told me "YEAH! have something to eat, take a shower, take your time getting dressed." And then today I asked my doctor and he says, "NO! Don't you do that! You need to go in right away." And I figured with this being my 4th baby things would go fast but I figured last time I got to the hospital my water broke and I was at 7cm when I got there and 3 hours after that. He told me unless I'm okay with messing up my furniture or having my baby in the car or the parking lot, not to do it. He even again advised me not to before walking out the door. lol. On another note I am measuring a week ahead. Not sure if that means she will be arriving sooner or not but I need to get on the ball at home. I have bought a few things but haven't done much else. I should probably get to it in case she does decide to come early.

Since this is my first time at this clinic I also asked what the procedure was for helping induce labor since my mom will be having reconstructive surgery from breast cancer. It is scheduled the week after my due date. My honey has family that can help with the kids when I go into labor but I prefer my mom. Nothing against them but my mom lives 5 minutes away and my kids are comfortable with her. We don't see his family as often so I think they would be a little scared to be with them.

Other then heartburn, having my own built in furnace and the temperature is only 12 degrees, restless nights of sleep, and not being able to breathe half the time I think this pregnancy is going good!! Only a few weeks left!

Congrats on 32 weeks! Glad everything is going good but sorry about the heartburn. Like you said though, only a few weeks left!

I was hot last time but I'm freezing this time. It probably has something to do with my thyroid... But I'm going to labor at home so do whatever makes you feel more comfortable. Men, even doctors, just don't get it. If it makes you feel better, research with your husband what to do if you start delivering before you get to a doctor. Luckily, DeWayne did a long stint in labor and delivery thru the military so at least I know he can keep us alive until an ambulance arrives. Hah! Save money on the room if nothing else...

ericalee- Oh man! I hate it! I would much rather be cold and throw a blanket on then to be throwing the blanket off from being hot. I am on my 4 bottle of ice water It's soo annoying. I bet your right. My NP is so relaxed and go with the flow but my MD is very practical. We live about 10-15(at the most) away from the hospital. So not to far to go.

Getting close!!! I was SO hoping for the built in furnace when I was pregnant since I am always so cold, but NOPE... I was STILL cold. My husband was bummed that I still had to use him to warm up my ice block feet in bed each night. ;)

I feel like MDs tend to be much more conservative, which I am guessing is the difference in opinion you got! How far away from the hospital do you live?
