3d/4d Ultrasound
Went to Philly with Alanna for her birthday weekend and tagged along to get a 3d/4d ultrasound in Doylestown. Got some pretty cool pictures and saw some great front view shots of Alek.

Found Out Baby's Gender
It was the day after Christmas and Mom, Jamie, and myself went to the gender ultrasound appt. We found out it was a boy. I cried. Jamie and I argued a little (typical). The baby was 10% healthy and very active!

Heard Baby's Heartbeat for the First Time
Went to Windber Medical Center for my first ultrasound with them. I had an ultrasound the week before but there wasn't any heartbeat detected yet. The tech did an internal US and showed me the flicker of light that was Alek's heartbeat. It was surreal.

First Ultrasound
Went to Conemaugh for an ultrasound to confirm the pregnancy. At that time, Alek was just an aminotic sac and a yolk. Went back Oct 10 and saw his heartbeat.

Announced Pregnancy to Family
The night that I came home after from work, I sat out on the deck and waited for Jamie to come over. I was terrified to tell him. He came over doing his usual sprint from the car on the deck. He held a notebook in his right hand. It was a book from my favorite anime, my birthday gift he'd ordered six weeks ago. I loved it but the fear streamed over my face. I told him we needed to take a walk and he refused. He walked with me to the other side of the deck as I nervously explained that I was pregnant. This blank look washed over him. We talked about all of the options. We went to his parents house and talked to them.
When I came home that night, I sulked upstairs and sat at the kitchen table. My mom walked out and asked me what was wrong. I stared at her and she guessed that I was pregnant. She shrugged like it wasn't the worst thing in the world. A few minutes later, Alanna came in and asked what was going on and she guessed. She gave the same shrug. I wasn't as scared anymore.

First Positive Pregnancy Test
Took a test at 3am on a whim. Almost threw it out the positive line was so faint. I took another one at 6am and got the same very very faint positive result. I was scared to tell Jamie. I took another test at work but spilled a drop in the test area. Results were positive. I went to birthright that afternoon with my friend Michelle. Their test was negative. I thought I may have made a mistake on the tests at home and work. I got home that night and took three more tests. All three had faint positive results. I scheduled a blood test at the Ob/Gyn for that thursday. I left work at 10am to get blood work and actually ended up taking heat for it even though I got permission because it was student shoe day. I didn't have anything on my mind besides getting those test results. I waited anxiously all day. Around 4:10p, 10 minutes after they were scheduled to close for the day, I got a call. A chipper woman on the phone told me my results were positive and I was having a baby. I cried.
