Q: I am HUGE at 22 weeks but have only gained 4 lbs. What gives???

Seriously, this isn't a "it's all baby weight" thing. I look TOO pregnant lol. By brother asked if I was having twins:( The kicker is that I can feel a good inch of fat on my lower tummy (but it's hard as a rock on the upper half) so if I could just get rid of that perhaps I would look smaller?? I am carrying super high though, do you think that plays a part in how you look? I'm not complaining as it's taken a long time to get here but if I get another twin comment I'm gonna cry

Something else I've thought of-I have a very curved spine (not in the direction of scoliosis, but the other way) so that if I don't stay thin even a little pooch will stick out more than most people. If you have a fairly curved spine that could be contributing as well-you can't suck in a baby bump! :) I have been looking at 11 week bump photos and some people look like nothing and some look waaay pregnant so I think when it comes to this, everything is normal! Don't worry about GD, that's more of a concern with excessive weight gain.

Well then I'm not gonna worry about it lol. Have to keep reminding myself that everyone is different. Haven't been tested for GD yet but I'm under the impression that there would be significant weight gain with that. I was tested with my first pregnancy because my midwife tests everyone for everything for kicks so I'm assuming it will be the same with this one using a doctor. As for the previa, never thought about that! I want to ask my doctor but I'm thinking she'll think I'm coocoo complaining about looking pregnant when I've only gained a tiny bit of weight lol. I think I'm just gonna google 22 week baby bumps and see if I compare hehe, maybe that'll calm my crazy!

Just like everyone else said, every pregnancy is different. I am 13 week 5 days pregnant with twins and I don't even look pregnant. I started out 104 lbs before pregnancy and gained 4 lbs so far.

With my first two I started showing (bloat first) right after I found out I was pregnant. I gained 46 with my first and 28 with number two. Generally after your first your body remembers so it expands a little early. I'm 10 weeks 4 days today and I've lost 6 lbs and haven't even started showing yet. Every pregnancy and every woman is different.

You've got the placenta previa still, right? I wonder if it could be related to that? Have you had your GD test yet?

And I've actually lost a small amount of weight so I know it's not that! It's firm, too, and feels different than bloating. I'm just waiting for it to look like a real bump and not a food baby! Lol

I have a small frame and am thin and I'm starting to show at 10+4. Everyone is different! This is my first, too.
