Q: Were you disappointed when you found out the gender?

I have had a u/s and found out I'm expecting a boy, the problem is I am really upset about it. I really convinced myself it would be a girl this time and obviously he is not but I never expected to feel like this.
I don't want to seem ungrateful because I know I am so fortunate to have a healthy child but Im convinced I'll never concieve a girl as I have decided I do not want anymore babies after this. I feel so guilty too, I could never imagine myself feeling this sad about the issue tbh. Any advice?

I totally understand where your coming from and i dont think anyone should make you feel bad because you have a gender preference. Most people have a preference and just dont admit it. This is my first pregnacy and i really want a girl!!!! But as this is my first child, i really dont mind either way, but if i had two boys in a row i would be really upset and worried about trying for a third baby as i dont want 3 boys. People can tell you to be gratefull all they want but you cant help how you feel! I will say though, im sure when bubby arrived all this stuff will go out the window and you will fall in love with bub.

Actually, I got a 'potty' shot and was told it 'looked like a girl' but yes you're right. I'm a woman, with a gorgeous boy and will always want to have that 'female connection' with a girl. I'm happy to have baby number 2 and comfortable to say this is all I can afford. I think this is sensible regardless whether you are single or not.
Anyway, my boy is happy to have his little brother and as time goes on I am too...boys are fantastic, my little one is quite amazing...The unfortunate thing is he is going to be 5 when baby is born so I didn't hold on to anything since then lol

Since having a baby of a specific gender is so important to you, I'd suggest that if you do ever have another, that you wait to find out the gender until the baby is born, that way you can fall in love with the child then, and not suffer with the resentments during your pregnancy... kwim?
