Q: How long did it take you to get pregnant?

I'm 28 weeks pregnant and I'm already thinking about when I will have my next baby lol. Anyways I'm asking because my fiance and I have been together for 3 years. The first year I was on birth control, then i stopped taking it - but we never tried to get pregnant we just had sex. It took me about 6 months to get pregnant and sadly it ended in and early miscarriage. Then i moved an hour away (long story) so we only seen each other a few times a month and weren't having much sex. This time it took us one month to get pregnant and here I am! I was only concerned because it seems like the first time I got pregnant it took us awhile it felt like... (6 months) and I was wondering if that's normal or not? How long did it take you with first and / or second pregnancies?

This is my first baby and it took us 4 months but I only had cycles during the last two (I was coming off Seasonale so I didn't get a period the first two months we were trying). That said, I monitored my body very closely and tracked my ovulation and we had sex very frequently around my ovulation days (even when it wasn't convenient) so I'm sure that helped our chances. If we had just been acting normally (sex about 4 times a week) it probably would have taken us longer.

You can have sex several times a week and still miss your ovulation so I wouldn't be worried that it took you 6 months the first time. If you weren't actively trying before (like using OPKs), I wouldn't worry about it. I think I'd only start to worry if you had been tracking your ovulation and you hadn't had any success for a year.

Baby 1 - not trying but off birth control for two months (ended in MC at 7 weeks), Baby 2 - tried for 5 months (she is now 2.5), and Baby 3 - took us 7 months (I am 31 weeks). I am 31 now and have no reproductive issues. We used ovulation kits and BBT for 2nd and 3rd.

I know two people who are due this year who got pregnant with their second child within only a few weeks of having their first. One was breast feeding and #2 will be born 3 weeks before #1 hits 1 year old (She got pregnant at 8 weeks post partum). The other just had #2 last night and #1 won't turn 1 till the end of March (she got pregnant at 3 weeks post partum). It can happen VERY quickly. Also, I don't think age is a factor, because one of the girls is 35 and the other is 21.
