Q: Is almost 7 weeks pregnant too soon to tell friends/

I'm going to be 6 weeks pregnant on Thursday and my first prenatal visit is Friday. My husband and I were thinking about doing a cute announement on Valentine's Day which I will be 6 weeks and 5 days preggers. I am hoping to hear the heartbeat on Friday otherwise I'm not sure if I will feel comfortable breaking the news. We've told our family but no friends so far....I am ready to let the cat out of the bag but I don't want to end up regretting it! Any advice?

I am currently 6 weeks and 2 days pregnant and I have my first ultrasound on 2/13/12. If we see a heartbeat then I plan on telling close family and a few friends that know we are trying on Valentines day. This will be 7 weeks and 2 days. But I am not going to tell co-workers or many friends until first tri ends.

Well if this is any help most women wait until the hear/see a heartbeat for the first time and some wait until the first tri ends when the risk of miscarriage is low. I told everyone after my first ultasound when i saw him and his hb @ 9 weeks.
