Q: Im against circumcision but my significant other desperately wants it. He saids its healthier..?

Im having twin fraternal boys. We are both overly excited. We agreed on names and etc but cant on circumcision!

He saids its healthier, prettier and if he has gfs later in life they might not want him because of the foreskin. He also saids if hes circumcised he wont get infections that much and etc.

Im just confused. I dont see a reason to cause unnecessary pain to my kids because itll look nice. If its not broken dont fix it is how i stand.

Anyone have uncircumcised or circumcised babies? Experiences with more infections due to having or not having it done? Any information would help.

Thank you.

I had my son circumcised when he was a week old. After the two shots of novacaine into his pee pee, he slept the entire procedure. Our biggest reason was because since so many other boys and men have it done, his dad included, we didn't want him to feel different down there. It's the same reason why my SO that I'm with now decided that if we are having a boy (which now we know we're not) that we would have it done on him too. It's also more painful to have it done as an adult should you choose to allow him to decide to get it done when he's older.

I don't see it as causing harm. Babies that young aren't neurologically capable of interpreting pain stimuli the way adults do. If its something you want done for cleanliness reasons, its best to do young.

Its like the difference between removing a dewclaw on a 3 day old puppy v a 3 month old puppy. One doesn't feel it at all, the other is a surgical procedure with a 2 week recovery.

I was engaged to a guy who want circumcised and he had some issues with it. He said the guys in gym class all made fun of him, he got infections, and would tear during intercourse. He wanted to get the foreskin removed but was afraid of how much pain it would cause to do it, he wished his mother would have chosen to have it done when he was a baby.
