Q: Measuring 42 weeks at 37 weeks

Hey Ladies,

So I have been measuring between 1-3 weeks ahead the second half of this pregnancy. I had a growth scan at 31 weeks and things seemed normal. Baby was in the 74th percentile. I had an appointment yesterday at 37w3d and I was measuring 42 weeks...My OB doesn't seem worried. She said she thinks it is becuase the baby is really high and not that it is a large baby but I am not so sure.

Am I right to be worried my baby is much larger than we think? My other two were girls and they were 7lb6oz and 7lb4oz. We don't know the gender of this baby but I am wondering if it is a boy since my husband is 6'4". Baby's head was in the 96th percentile at the scan which also worries me! My first baby had a huge head and came out posterior and tore me up on the way out. I needed multiple blood transfusions before I could even sit up without passing out/blood pressure dropping.

Everything else is normal, fluid was normal at 31 week scan as well.

I don't recall the girls percentages at birth but they were both very average sized. My oldest just had a huge head and still does. This baby is still very high, just refuses to drop down which is very different from my girls who spent the whole pregnancy in my pelvis. lol Each time my OB does a cervical check it hurts a lot becuase my cervix is so high. She is basically putting the top part of her hand in in order to reach it (sorry if that is TMI). I am scheduled for a membrane sweep on the 15th and I am praying my cervix has moved down before that happens!

Either way, they scheduled me to be induced on March 20th so baby will be here in 12 days or less!

We didn't find out the gender for the first two either, we really like finding out in the delivery room. :)

Hmmm... that's tough. What % were your girls in at birth? Based on 74% I'd say this baby is looking to be bigger, but not huge. You do look to be carrying high still in your last bump picture. How exciting that you still don't know the gender!
