Q: FTM: Dumb question about calcium?

Before getting pregnant I used to take supplements, but I would rather get it from food now that I am pregnant.

I realize women over 18 need 1,000mg of calcium a day, but a lot of foods only show percentage not how many mg is in the food. If I eat 100% of the daily calcium intake a day does that mean I'm hitting my 1,000mg a day goal?

Thanks!

You need more calcium when your pregnant because the baby will rob it from you. Make sure you are taking a prenatal vitamin and drinking a lot of milk, eating a lot of cheese, drinking orange juice with Calcium. and trying to intake as much as possible. The baby is going to steal your calcium because the baby needs to start hardening their bones. So when you are eating and drinking eat as much as possible. Ice Cream is good calcium as well.
