Q: mother and mother in law and planning a baby shower

My mother and mother in law dont exactly like each other...so them planning a baby shower together is going to be difficult...I suggested we have two separate ones for each family but my mom wants to have one all together. How did you guys get you're mothers and mother in laws to get along enough to plan baby shower together?

My mom passed away 2 years ago:-( but my Dad's fiance is a super control-freak and wants to determine every aspect of the shower. Technically, we (as in the mommies) shouldn't be involved in the process too much. My sister-in-law and best friend are having an interesting time working with my future step mom. Now my mother-in-law wants in on the shower too:-/ My DH's family can't afford to throw a seperate shower (which I understand). But, with my mother-in-law involved, that adds a whole new dimension to the shower!! Basically my DH wants me to stay out of it and let happen what's going to happen and I know he's right. I think they will eventually get things organized and I'm sure it will be very nice (but I can't say I'm not nervous about it). Basically, my plan is to show up and be grateful for the shower they are going to throw me and my LO. I don't see what other choice I really have. I'm just happy to be having a shower:-)
