My baby's heartbeat was about 176 at 7 1/2 weeks and I thought it sounded too fast also but the u/s tech told me that the heartbeat would slow down a bit after 12 weeks. As baby gets bigger, the heartbeat will find a kinda normal range...lately mine has been in the mid to upper 140's now. Try not to stress....it's not good for you or baby. :)

My Daughter's heart rate was 188 at 8 weeks, and never went below 176, my entire pregnancy and she is a perfect, beautiful 3 year old with an attitude!

My baby was at 180 at 9.4 weeks and the doc was not concerned at all. It will eventually slow down as the baby get's bigger. I am now 13.1 weeks and the heart rate is around 160 and actually 170 at one point during the appt. and they were not concerned at all. Hope this helps. I have also found staying off the internet and info site, except this one of course :), is helpful b/c the more I read the more I find something to be scared about.

I am sure its fine! I read that the heart beat is normal between 120 -200 bpm. It suppose to slow down later on. All the best!
