I did the stairs. I didn't have a choice because my bedroom is upstairs and trying to sleep on the couch would've been a joke. After being in the hospital for 4 days, after I got home it wasn't too bad. My doctor did caution me to only do one trip up/down a day though. So once I came down, I stayed down until it was time for bed. When I did take the stairs I kinda turned to the side, held my pillow to my abdomen for support and went veeeeeeeeeeeeeeery slow (both feet to one step before going up another, instead of alternating legs like normal).

As far as I know you are not allowed to climb stairs for the first 2 weeks after a c-section. In any case that is what my doctor said with mine.
